Cooling Water Networks are targeted and designed in this work by an algebraic methodology approach needing no graphical plotting. The key basis for the methodology is the conservation of the mass and heat balances. The Enthalpy Problem Table is first developed to target the minimum mass and heat capacity flow rates of the cooling water and identify the pinch temperature. To minimize the recirculating cooling-water flow rate to enhance the energy efficiency of the cooling tower and at the same time, to make the cooling water network more flexible, in order that to operate and control, a new cooling-water network design with Pinch Cooling Water Main is proposed in this paper.
