The characterization of sludge from the production of drinking water shows that it is silico-aluminous clays with the dominance of mineralogical phases kaolinite muscovite. Our job is to valorize this sludge as an adsorbent material for the discoloration of methylene blue and and reducing the pollutant load of a real rejection of textiles. The effect of different experimental parameters such as adsorbent mass, pH and contact time were studied. We also studied the effect of chemical sludge activation on treatment. The adsorption kinetics of methylene blue are better described by the pseudo-second order model.
