Radon gas is a radioactive element that appears in nature by the decay of radium found in terrestrial soils. This gas is able to travel between the pores of the ground and enter into the buildings where the concentration can increase and becoming a health risk to occupants from inhaling. The World Health Organization rate the radon gas as a level 1 carcinogen agent. According to this organization, radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer contraction after tobacco.
