Epistemologi Bayani

Bayani is a typical Arabic epistemology that is based on text. According to him, the source of knowledge is a text that is the Qur'an and al-Hadith from a religious perspective. There are two ways to gain knowledge: (1) based on the editorial composition of the text studied through linguistic analysis, (2) based on the analogy method seen from one of three aspects, namely the relationship between asl and far`, the reasons for asl and far `, and the unifying tendency between asl and far`. In its development, the Bayani analogy is not only used to explore knowledge from the text but is also used to understand metaphysical reality by making an analogy with physical reality (qiyâs al-ghaib 'alâ al-syâhid).
