Analgesia and sedation are an integral part of the care provided to critically ill patients with COVID-19. These patients experience moderate to severe pain at rest and during standard care procedures. Objectives: The objective of this work is to identify the importance of sedation in patients hospitalized with COVID-19. Method: The Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS) and National Library of Medicine (MEDLINE) database were used to find scientific articles that were useful in clarifying this study.
