Crohn's disease (CD) is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the digestive tract whose etiology remains unclear. The ileal lesions of patients with CD is abnormally colonized by pathogenic strains of Escherichia coli belonging to the AIEC pathovar to Adherent-Invasive E. coli.
