Self-esteem and subjective well-being in relation to job satisfaction

Self-esteem which is considered an essential psychological construct needed not jut for human survival but also to ensure that one lives a meaningful life. It refers to the person\u27s overall sense of personal worth or value. Subjective well-being or SWB refers to how people generally evaluate their lives. It consists of two parts: the cognitive and the affective. Job satisfaction, on the other hand, which is perceived to be the most critical factor for life satisfaction and well-being, also one of the most researched subjects in work and organizational literature. Many research studies about self-esteem and job satisfaction have been made involving people from different professions but there seems to be a dearth of studies made about teachers\u27 job satisfaction especially here in De La Salle Araneta University. Hence this study was made. This study utilized a descriptive-correlational method of research. Specifically, it aimed to seek relationship between self-esteem and subjective well-being to the job satisfaction of the tertiary level teachers of DLSAU. A total of sixty respondents were selected through purposive sampling. Chi square and Pearson product moment of correlation were used in the statistical treatment of the data. It was found out that the respondents\u27 profile of gender, age, work status, civil status and length of service had not significant relationship with their level of self-esteem, subjective well-being n terms of life satisfaction and subjective happiness. It was also concluded that self-esteem and subjective well-being were not related to job satisfaction
