In the novelistic universe the writer creates an emotional atmosphere or ecology for the reader within the text. The creation of this atmosphere promotes the comprehension power of the reader and establishes a cognitive and emotional relationship between the two. In most of the contemporary novels referred to in this paper the authors have taken the reader on an emotional voyage by means of their writing. Emotional ecology has gained currency in various pedagogical spheres due to the deteriorating relationship between the educators and the students.
