Prevalencia de Anaplasma spp. en caninos mediante la prueba rápida de ELISA (Snap 4dx plus test) en la provincia de San Martín

Anaplasmosis is an emerging disease caused by Anaplasma spp that affects humans, domestic and wild animals. The objective of the study was to determine the prevalence of Anaplasma spp. (A. phagocytophilum / A. Platys), in canines from the San Martín province - Peru. A total of 65 companion canine blood samples were examined using the commercial ELISA-Test SNAP® 4Dx® kit. The data collected includes breed, sex, age, exposure of the animal to the street and presence of ticks, likewise, identification information, degree of instruction of the owner and place of residence were collected. The world prevalence was 43.01% ± 12.52%; obtaining a greater number of cases in the district of Tarapoto (19/65). In the analysis of the variables, a greater presence of Anaplasma spp. in males (16/28) than in females (12/28), as well as in canines of the range 9-19 months of age (7/28) and in relation to breeds, the crossed ones (9/65). However, the variables sex, age, and race did not have a statistically significant relationship with the presence of Anaplasma spp. Likewise, it will be statistically prolonged that there is no significant relationship between the degree of instruction of the owner and the presence of the disease, as well as the exposure of the dog to the street as a risk of exposure to the vector (p> 0.05).La anaplasmosis es una enfermedad emergente causada por Anaplasma spp que afecta a humanos, animales domésticos y silvestres. El objetivo del estudio fue determinar la prevalencia de Anaplasma spp. (A. phagocytophilum / A. Platys), en caninos de la provincia de San Martín - Perú. Se examinaron un total de 65 muestras sanguíneas de caninos de compañía utilizando el kit comercial ELISA – Test SNAP® 4Dx®. Los datos recopilados incluyeron raza, sexo, edad, exposición del animal a la calle y presencia de garrapatas, así mismo, se recolectó información de identificación, grado de instrucción del propietario y lugar de residencia. La prevalencia global fue 43.01% ±12.52%; obteniéndose un mayor número de casos en el distrito de Tarapoto (19/65). En el análisis de las variables, se determinó una mayor presencia de Anaplasma spp. en machos (16/28) que en hembras (12/28), así como en caninos del rango 9 –19 meses de edad (7/28) y en relación a razas, los cruzados (9/65). Sin embargo, las variables sexo, edad, raza no tuvieron relación estadísticamente significativa con la presencia de Anaplasma spp. Así mismo, se determinó estadísticamente que no existe, ninguna relación significativa entre el grado de instrucción del propietario y la presencia de la enfermedad al igual que la exposición del perro a la calle como riesgo de exposición al vector (p>0.05)
