Introduction: Fat necrosis (NG) of the newborn is a rare panniculitis that affects full-term neonates related to maternal factors such as gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, drug use (cocaine), or neonatal factors such as asphyxia, meconium aspiration, and hypothermia. The following is a clinical case of a newborn who presented complicated fat necrosis admitted to Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, with a clinical and histopathological diagnosis, whose severity could be related to the maternal immunological factor.
