Background: Patient access rights to medical records are related to the retention period because they can only be accessed as long as they have not been destroyed. The study aims to identify the corresponding regulations to assess the legal protection of the patient's right to access her/his medical record. Methods: Tracing and identifying primary legal sources in regulatory content related to patient rights of access. An analysis was conducted on the clarity and consistency of the contents identified.
