Today sees a global increase in anxiety disorders, from which work-related generalised anxiety disorder largely contributes to. Work-related anxiety is defined as anxiety that is caused by work related stressors experienced for over a six-month period that impact everyday functions. As a result of the extent of anxiety disorders in the workforce, more commercial architecture is currently being developed in recognition of needing a psychological relief; there is however, little research interest regarding residential architecture in the field of therapy.
