Session : Systèmes d'élevageLeaning towards a better feed and forage self-sufficiency enables to improve dairy farm competitiveness and their ability to cope with climatic events and production constraint changes. A better match between the dynamics of dairy cattle needs and herbage supply could allow the farming system to enhance forage self-sufficiency at the farm scale. Building a farm-scale model enables to explore different dairy systems with contrasting production strategies in order to understand what are the possible trade-offs between animal production, feed and forage selfsufficiency and sustainable grassland use.
