Jamaica. Significant achievements 2012

The main activities carried out by the Institute in Jamaica during 2012 are identified, with respect to the needs and interests of the country, strengthening issues such as family farming, field schools, greenhouses, protected agriculture, methodologies and cooperation between the public sector and private. Finally, work was done on the quarantine systems and on the value chains of vegetables, beans, sweet potatoes, bananas, yams and mangoes.Se identifican las principales actividades realizadas por el Instituto en Jamaica durante el 2012, con respecto a las necesidades e intereses del país, fortaleciendo en temas como agricultura familiar, escuelas de campo, invernaderos, agricultura protegida, metodologías y en cooperación entre el sector público y privado. Finalmente, se trabajo en los sistemas de cuarentena y en las cadenas de valor de hortalizas, frijol, batata, banano, ñame y mango
