This brief study aims to describe connective attributive syntax in Basque. Basque is, on the whole, ergative at the case marking and agreement levels but Indo-European languages' ‘subject' and ‘object' categories are not so valid taking syntactic/morphological criteria as a basic element. Attributive complements occur only when the intransitive verb's single argument is marked for the absolutive empty case and when the transitive verb's argument is marked for the absolutive case as well.
