This paper is focused on the transient thermal model of the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) and the airflow cooling model through the ribs in the stator lamination. The stator lamination has a new specialized designed shape. This type of lamination does not need a frame, and the lamination is directly cooled. It has reduced the thermal resistance between the cooling medium and stator lamination. The thermal model is loaded with variable Power, and the airflow speed of cooling air is variable. Thermal models are solved by software ANSYS CFX and Mechanical. The thermal model of PMSM is based on the traction motor. This machine is designed as enclosed. The modelled PMSM is used in the electric racing formula
