The primary aims of this thesis were: (i) To conduct a review of the current literature to collate the research on psychological characteristics and skills (PSCs) that contribute to the development and performance of talented rugby union (rugby) players, to provide a rugby specific list of PSCs and highlight any limitations in the existing literature.
