Agromining technology involves the recovery of strategic metals from metalliferous soils through the cultivation of metal(loid) hyperaccumulator plants. The impetus of this research was to evaluate the potential of Mexican plant resources for the future development of agromining. The main objectives were then to identify and to study some metal hyperaccumulator plant species in Mexico, and to assess the agronomy of one promising “metal crop” for agromining.
