Maintaining navigational conditions in estuarine ports and their accesses requires regular maintenance. In the Seine estuary, dredging carried out by port authorities of Rouen and Le Havre induces sediment fluxes of the same order of magnitude as the natural morphological changes and 10 times greater than continental sediment inputs.A 3D hydrodynamic model, coupled to a wave model, simulating the dynamics of sand and mud has been adapted to simulate dredging as a process.
