In less than forty years, the Chinese society has completely transformed its social legislation made necessary by the transition to a market economy. With the labour law adopted in 1994, then the labour contract law in 2007, China seems to have introduced, in a very short time, profound changes in the employer-employee relationship. This generalization of the written contract at work, indeed, seems to oppose the older form of the implicit contract, which still prevails in contemporary China.
