The chemical infiltration in the vapour phase (CVI) technique is used to densify porous preforms made of ceramic fibres to prepare ceramic matrix thermostructural composites. A numerical modeling of the CVI process is proposed, which takes into account the couplings between mass transfers (by Fick and Knudsen scattering) and heterogeneous chemical processes occurring inside a rectilinear pore. This model, which can integrate any kinetic law representing the deposition reaction, is applied to various chemical systems leading to the infiltration of various ceramics: SiC, ZrO2, Y2O3, pyrocarbon.
