The last few years have seen very significant development of methane and hydrogen (H2) production channels in order to reduce the use of fossil fuels. As of today and even more in the years to come, these new gases are and will be injected in the natural gas grid but also in the geological storage facilities connected to it. Biomethane can be co-injected with O2 (up to 1%vol) that is added to re-oxidize and eliminate sulfur compounds. Will these new injected gases O2 and H2 (up to 10 %vol) have effects on the storage evolution in deep aquifers?
