Bacterial contamination is nowadays a crucial issue in a wide range of industrial and clinical settings. Preventing initial bacterial adhesion to material surfaces represents an effective approach for avoiding biofilm growth in which bacteria become much more resistant to antibiotics and environmental stresses. Among different possible strategies of antibacterial surfaces development, we were especially interested in the development of materials resistant to initial bacterial adhesion due to their intrinsic properties.
