Advances in new technologies in the field of wireless systems and communications have given rise to modern distributed systems. This has led to an increase in the development of mobile distributed applications. In addition, modern distributed systems are subject to new constraints that must be taken into consideration including failure management which has become more frequent with the vulnerability of the computing units. As a result, fault tolerance becomes a crucial property in this context and particularly for mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs).
