This dissertation discusses the development of reliability analysis methods within the context of costly-to-evaluate numerical models. Reliability analysis aims at propagating input uncertainties within a system to evaluate its failure probability. Simulation methods are nowadays an essential tool given their ability to deal with complex problems. However, those methods require a large number of calls to the costly-to-evaluate numerical model, which causes considerable computational burden. Combining reliability methods to active learning surrogate modelling is one of the proposed alternatives to reduce the computational burden.
