L'étude a été menée selon 2 axes : le développement du rechargement laser sur aluminium et l'amélioration des propriétés mécaniques des revêtements. L'originalité du travail a résidé dans la mise en œuvre de lasers Nd:YAG couplés avec une buse d'injection coaxiale et dans la pluralité des alliages étudiés (base Al avec addition de 1 ou 2 éléments : Cu, Co, Cr, Fe, Mo, Ni, Si et Sn, élaboration de matériaux composites avec renfort de carbures : WC, TiC ou SiC).En premier lieu, une technique d'alliage de surface par prédépôt a été utilisée sur un substrat d'aluminium 1050.
