Les phyllosilicates hydratés tels que les argiles sont à ce jour mal contraints thermodynamiquement. Leur domaine de stabilité, est mal connu ; il est même inexistant pour certains auteurs, pour qui les argiles sont métastables. Nous utilisons un protocole expérimental dans lequel une succession d'équilibres locaux entre un fluide et des minéraux en précipitation se met en place le long d'un gradient thermique.Les expériences ont été menées dans les systèmes chimiques : Mg-Al-Si-H2O (MASH), K-Al-Si-H2O (KASH), et K-Mg-Al-Si-H2O (KMASH).
