Cette thèse porte sur le rôle des PeptidoGlycan Recognition Proteins au cours de la réponse immunitaire innée de la drosophile. Mes résultats démontrent que PGRP-SD coopère avec PGRP-SA et GNBP-1 dans la reconnaissance des bactéries à Gram-positif et l'activation de la voie immune Toll, contrôlant l'induction de certains peptides antimicrobiens. J ai ensuite démontré que PGRP-SC1 et SC2, qui ont une activité enzymatique amidase, régulent activement la voie IMD. En dégradant le peptidoglycane, ces amidases diminuent en effet son pouvoir immuno-stimulateur.
