Linda J. Saul-Sena oral history interview

Interview with former councilwoman Linda Saul-Sena who served on the Tampa City Council, Tampa Arts Council, and the Tampa Planning Commission for 20 years. Mrs. Saul-Sena discusses her family history in Tampa, starting in the 1920s, when her grandparents moved to Tampa with their family business. Mrs. Saul-Sena recalls her interest in politics and the strong political environment in her home. Mrs. Saul-Sena also details her work and accomplishments on the planning commission that positively transformed areas such as Hyde Park and Davis Islands. She talks about experiences as a councilwoman and her dealings with various political figures in Tampa, such as mayors Dick Greco and Pam Iorio. She discusses her involvement on having a street named in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and with Tampa\u27s Human Rights Ordinance that sought equal rights and legal protections for the gay community.
