Oral history interview with Holocaust survivors George Salton and Ruth Salton. George Salton was born in 1928 in Przemysl, Poland. In 1942, the Germans began deporting the town\u27s Jewish population to various camps. Mr. Salton was then taken to the first of ten camps; in 1945, he was liberated by American troops at Wöbbelin. Once he was liberated, Mr. Salton enlisted in the United States Army. Mrs. Ruth Wolfberg Salton was born in 1928 in Tomaszów Lubelski, Poland, where she lived with her family until 1939. Mrs. Salton was on summer vacation in Warsaw when the Germans invaded Poland. She escaped Warsaw by train and hid in Russian occupied Poland.
