This paper explains the Carpentry program and its goals at the Department of Juvenile Justice. The core carpentry program length is a minimum of two months or 80 hours, and includes nationally recognized texts from The National Center for Construction Education and Research Core Curriculum. DJJ staff will determine if a youth is appropriate for the program and refer them to attend. Primary objectives of the Carpentry Apprenticeship classes and curriculum are listed. It also gives a listing of telephone numbers for the DJJ county offices throughout the state
