Typically, actions are sources of moral wrongdoing. Beliefs being a potential source of moral wrongdoing is known as doxastic wronging. In her paper, A Tale of Two Doctrines: Moral Encroachment and Doxastic Wronging, Professor Rima Basu outlines the conditions for a doxastic wrong. They are (1) directed (2) beliefs that are (3) wrong in virtue of the content that is believed. In this paper, I will explain the argument and show that beliefs cannot be a source of moral wrongdoing.
