Racial inequality has persisted throughout the history of the United States. As it stands today, one of the places where this inequality is most strongly displayed is in American classrooms. In Kansas City and many other cities across the country, students, often of minority backgrounds, attend underserved schools that do not provide them with a strong education. While de facto segregation is largely responsible for this inequality, the solution lies elsewhere. To try and remedy the issue of racial inequality in the United States, it is essential to make underserved schools more equitable, giving their students a better chance to succeed
