A new species from western Panama, Maxillaria curvicolumna M.A. Blanco & Neubig is described and illustrated. It is distinguished by its rhizomatous habit; small, ovoid pseudobulbs subtended by a pair of narrow leaves with purple-spotted sheaths; a single terminal leaf; and white flowers with a sigmoid column. Maxillaria silvana Campacci, originally described from southern Bahia state in Brazil, is reported for the eastern slope of the Andes in Ecuador, and an augmented description is provided.American Orchid SocietyRoyal Botanic Gardens, KewUnited States National Science FoundationUCR::Vicerrectoría de Investigación::Unidades de Investigación::Ciencias Agroalimentarias::Jardín Botánico Lankester (JBL
