The image of Mary Tudor has been vilified throughout the years with the propagation of several defaming texts and illustrations overshadowing her royal status and forgetting the humiliations and miseries she experienced alongside her father and afterwards during her reign. For this reason, this dissertation is aimed at examining the history of Mary and her representation as a fictional character. To do this, I used two historical books which describe in detail the life of Mary Tudor: Mary Tudor: A Life by David Loades and María Tudor: La Gran Reina Desconocida by María Jesús Pérez.
