Nora : alcune osservazioni sulla città e sul territorio nel V sec. a.C.

Recent studies and excavations at the site of Nora in southern Sardinia have shown that the settlement expanded during the 5th century BC and underwent a complex process of urbanisation. The excavations in the area of the so-called"Colle di Tanit" show very clearly that the city of Nora was laid out in the late 5th century according to a coherent urban plan. In addition, a pedestrian survey carried out in the hinterland has provided data for research into the relationship between the city and ​the countryside during the Punic period. Taking into account the data from both the settlement and the hinterland, as well as traditional research on the role of Carthage in shaping the landscape of Sardinia, the aim of this paper is to explore the effective involvement of the African city in the urbanisation process and the regional dynamics of Nora and its hinterland
