Recent studies and excavations at the site of Nora in southern Sardinia have shown that the settlement expanded during the 5th century BC and underwent a complex process of urbanisation. The excavations in the area of the so-called"Colle di Tanit" show very clearly that the city of Nora was laid out in the late 5th century according to a coherent urban plan. In addition, a pedestrian survey carried out in the hinterland has provided data for research into the relationship between the city and the countryside during the Punic period.
