Demand for self compacting concrete is Abstract: increasing due to the possibilities of usage in congested reinforced areas, and reduction in manpower. Use of high fine content and superplasticisers has significantly altered the properties of SCC compared to normally vibrated concrete. Even though the topic is new to Sri Lankan construction industry, the subject matter covered is useful to the Sri Lankan industry.
