This is a study of the influence of yarn tension in the production of plain knit fabrics. The fabric samples in this study were produced in a leading knitting mill "Cyntex Knitters" at Eakala and all the tests were carried out in the textile laboratories at the University of Moratuwa, under controlled atmospheric conditions. The fabric samples produced on one machine may include some errors but will include in this study. This project work could also serve as a starting point for further investigations of the static charge buildup during weft knitting process and also of the lubrication of knitting yarns
