An architecture in harmony with nature : an examination of the concept of intimacy in space making

Structuring and identifying the environment and orientating him self with it is ofvital importance to human existence. The unique identity of spaces, facilitates this process of orientation and provides for this human need of belonging.It is felt essential therefore to understand the essence of space making respecting the values and aspirations of nature. The most convincing effort of emphasising this idea is to become familiar with spatial qualities in architecture. Intimacy is one such quality which arouses the heartened relationship of man towards environment, in an emotional manners making his immediate surrounding alive. A man is alive when he is whole heartened, true to himself, true to his own inner forces, and able to act freely according to the nature of the situation he is in. This essey seeks to formulate a vision, towards creating architecture in harmony with nature and the relevence of intimacy in achieving thus. It is in this sense that the phyhosophy behind would be based on convincing on the importance of space making and as a gesture to make a better place for living
