In 2018 the UK’s Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH), in association with the Young Health Movement, published #StatusofMind: Social media and young people’s mental health and wellbeing (RSPH, 2018). Although #StatusofMind drew attention to some of the positive benefits of social media it was mainly concerned with apparently worrying evidence suggesting they cause young people harm.
