PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA ULAR TANGGA PADA PEMBELAJARAN TEMATIK (TEMA 4 SUBTEMA 1) SISWA KELAS 3 SDN PUNTEN 01 BATU

Based on observation and interview with teacher from 3rd grade of Punten 01 Batu Elementary School, writer found that the reason why some students find the difficulty to understand the subject was teacher’s lack ability to optimize the teaching media. This research aimed to: 1) to develop the snake and ladder media in learning for theme 4 subtheme 1 at grade 3 of Punten 01 Batu Elementary School. 2) to determine the attractiveness of snake and ladder media in learning for theme 4 subtheme 1 at grade 3 of Punten 01 Batu Elementary School. This research was using ADDIE research model which consist of five stages, those are 1) analyze, the basic stage to create an idea and to identify the problem that offen occure in the field. 2) design, a stage to design the product. 3) development, to quantify the eligibility by validity stage. 4) implementation, the stage of implementing the results of media development by carrying out field trial. 5) evaluation, used to quantify the success of the product that had been compiled. Data collection techniques in this research used questionnaires, interview, and observation. The result from material expert validation shown score 80% which is in very good category and from media expert validation shown score 75% which is in good category. Some suggestions given from the two validators were to add illustrations to the learning materials and questions and to slightly fix the rules of the media. The student's response to the snake and ladder media is in the very interesting category with a score of 92%. Likewise, from the teacher's response, this media scored 93%. The conclusion for this research shown that the snake and ladder learning media was decent and attractive to use as an alternative learning media for grade 3 of Punten 01 Batu Elementary School
