THE HOAX MESSAGES FOUND ON FACEBOOK

The purpose of this study is to find out the types of hoaxes that mostly appear and find the tendency for hoax messages. This study used a qualitative descriptive method. The Research Object in this study is Hoax Report Data on the Kominfo website for January 2019. The instrument used is secondary data. The data analysis technique used observation and documentation. The results of this study found 7 types of hoax messages using on Facebook, among others, satire/parody, Misleading content, Imposter content, Fabricated content, False connections, False context, Manipulated content. The most dominant type of hoaxes messages in Facebook post is Fabricated content with a percentage of 34.61%
