Mood profiling has a long history of use within sport and exercise psychology, dating back to the 1970s. Six distinct mood profiles have been reported in the literature, referred to as the iceberg, inverse iceberg, inverse Everest, shark fin, surface, and submerged profiles (Parsons-Smith et al., 2017).
