Among Joaquín Costa's sociological studies, his observa- tions on family organization stand out. Aragonese Families were based on a system of property transfer based on the particular Aragonese legislation and a series of customary rules. This legal facts defined the Pyrenean family model. This article compares the observations of Joaquín Costa and kind of families, marriages and property transmission according to primary sources for Aragonese Modern Age. This study is based on the analysis of marital chapters, wills and lawsuits derived from unfulfilled marriage commitments.
