SFI-lärares syn på användning av skönlitteratur för att stärka elevens andraspråksinlärning

This paper aims to investigate some teachers' views on the use of fiction as a method in teaching to develop and strengthen language development in Swedish as a second language among students in municipal education in Swedish for immigrants. This is investigated through qualitative interviews with three teachers based on semi-structured questions. The questions are about what the teachers 'experiences and thoughts are about working with fiction to develop and strengthen the student's second language development and if and if so in what ways the students' multilingualism is used. The results of the study showed that teachers experience difficulties and challenges in using fiction in teaching, even though they see benefits in terms of strengthening and developing students' learning and language development. The difficulties lie on an organizational, pedagogical and social level. Where the organization of groups as reading groups with a common first language or strongest language could be a success factor. That the staff has an expanded knowledge of how to work with fiction in teaching and that in order to feel confident in their own ability, you should plan together and learn from each other
