Förutsättningar för vårdandet : En systematisk litteraturstudie om sjuksköterskors erfarenheter

Background: Previous research shows that nurses’ work is perceived as overwhelming due to a high workload, and lack of support. This complicates the conditions for good care. Offering patients, the best possible care should be the goal in healthcare. Expectations and obligations produce experiences of inadequacy among nurses who risk experiencing overwhelming care. Which also has a negative effect on the care of patients. Aim: To describe registered nurses experiences of job satisfaction in patient care. Method: Qualitative approach with descriptive synthesis based on a systematic literature study. Based on ten qualitative health science articles that were analyzed. Results: Nurses experience the importance of good relationships with colleagues and employers positively. Support and security in the work from colleagues and employers is experienced as a prerequisite for care. Mental well-being, development and exchange of knowledge at work is experienced as a good prerequisite for care according to the nurses. The nurses find it important to care for patients from a holistic perspective. In this way, the nurses were able to make a difference to their patients, as well as to support the patients and their families. Caring for patients in a person-centered way is meaningfully experienced for the care according to the nurses. Conclusion: Existential and organizational conditions was important according to nurses’ experiences. These conditions affected nurses’ ability to offer patients good care.
