Teaching speaking in online mode is quite challenging, especially during this pandemic era. Perhaps among other obstacles, student’s engagement is one of the compelling issues to discuss. In this article, the author would like to share his own class dealing with this matter. Some experts’ perspectives on the issue and its reality in a real context, how the author’s creativity to create the speaking online class much more active, and including some tips and strategies applied in the class to make students actively participate in the class, are going to discuss in this article.
