The IDACstar (Internal Dose Assessment by Computer) software is a Monte Carlo based standalone MCNP input generator software developed to perform complex radiation dose calculations using both the paediatric and adult ICRP reference phantoms. An extension of the IDACstar software was applied to two different exposure scenarios. One of the scenarios was a hypothetical case of a contaminated diaper from urine of a 1-year old patient undergoing a diagnostic kidney examination with 99mTc-labelled mercaptoacetyl triglycerine (MAG3), which resulted in an effective dose estimate of 0.088 mSv to the child.
