Loviisanjoki has been suffering from annual floods that have been damaging buildings and roads in the past years. To overcome flooding problems, extensive dredging and other river restorations have been implemented at Loviisanjoki in 2020-2021. The objective of this study was to assess the impacts of river restorations on flood water levels at river Loviisanjoki. The method of this study included constructing a hydraulic model in HEC-RAS, calibrating its roughness coefficients against flood water level measurements, and comparing water level results between before and after restoration. The geometry of Loviisanjoki was measured in 2019, and it worked as a basis of this study. The restoration work was not completed at the time of the measurement...
