Prior literature has identified several accounting anomalies. The most recent one is profitability anomaly which means that firms with higher profitability outperform lower profitability firms in the stock market. Several potential explanations have been suggested for accounting anomalies. These explanations can be divided into risk-based and market efficiency explanations.
